About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Financial Services Project Manager to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with strong potential for extension. The role will be hybrid, based in Cheshire.

Our client is looking for a Project Manager to support a portfolio of Technical Refresh Intiatives, focused on modernising legacy infrastructure and driving strategic change. You will be responsible for delivering multiple concurrent projects, ensuring outcomes are clearly understood by business stakeholders and delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex technical remediation initiatives across multiple business units and projects
  • Translate infrastructure-focused change into clear, business-friendly language for stakeholders
  • Deliver multiple projects in parallel, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and timelines
  • Identify risks and issues proactively and implement mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to define deliverables and success criteria
  • Track progress, report on delivery status, and maintain strong governance across the change portfolio
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, delivery standards, and operational efficiency

About You

  • Proven experience delivering complex remediation and infrastructure change projects within Financial Services
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Services regulations and operating environments
  • Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams independently across business and technology functions
  • Highly proficient with project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) and financial control frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior audiences
  • Experience within Life & Pensions is desirable but not essential
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Project Management within financial services
