About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Production Support Engineer located in Cary, North Carolina to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months  but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Production Support Engineer – Security & Infrastructure

Overview

FDM is seeking a Production Support Engineer to support critical security and infrastructure platforms within a fast-paced, cybersecurity-focused environment. This role will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and automating endpoint security tools, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft technologies and cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day production support for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) and related security tools
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint and system issues in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell and dbrun scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency
  • Leverage Ansible for configuration management and deployment automation
  • Support systems across Linux environments and integrate with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across security, infrastructure, and engineering
  • Follow ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible
  • Solid understanding of endpoint security principles
  • Experience supporting Linux systems
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework

Nice to Have

  • Experience in large enterprise environments
  • Additional scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Broader experience across Microsoft security tools
