About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a PMO Lead to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced PMO Lead to support a complex portfolio of technology and transformation programmes within the Chief Information Office. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Delivery, you will provide governance, financial oversight, resource management and portfolio reporting across a large-scale change portfolio valued between £20m–£40m annually.

You will work closely with Programme Managers, Project Managers, delivery teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution and governance of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Lead PMO activities across a portfolio of technology and transformation programmes valued between £20m–£40m per annum
  • Manage governance processes including RAID management, change control, portfolio planning and dependency management
  • Support financial control activities including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking and third-party spend management
  • Produce high-quality management information, reporting, insights and commentary for SteerCos, executive committees and senior stakeholders
  • Manage resource demand, capacity planning and portfolio-level reporting while driving continuous improvement across PMO processes and controls 

About You

  • Proven experience leading PMO functions across complex programme and project portfolios with spend up to £50m
  • Strong governance, financial management, budgeting and portfolio reporting experience
  • Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, change control and programme assurance activities
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge and influence senior leaders and strategic suppliers
  • Experience working within Agile environments and multi-programme delivery landscapes
  • Advanced skills in SharePoint, PMO tooling, portfolio reporting and project governance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for executive audiences
  • Previous Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is highly desirable
  • Experience leading PMO teams of 2–6 analysts preferred
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale technology change and transformation portfolios
