About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Delivery Manager to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role based in London.

Our client, a major UK retailer, is transforming how integration works across its business through the Integration Factory - moving from a centralised integration model towards a fully distributed, democratised capability, underpinned by reusable components, shared standards and a centralised observability capability. The successful candidate will own the day-to-day delivery rhythm across agile squads, keeping engineering teams continuously fed with prioritised work, driving pace and quality, and providing clear, consumable reporting and escalation to senior stakeholders. This is a hands-on delivery role in a complex, partner-heavy environment working alongside third-party delivery partners.

Responsibilities

Own and maintain Jira boards across your squads, ensuring tickets are accurate, current and meaningful, and using Jira as the single source of truth for planning, tracking and reporting
Set and enforce sprint hygiene, holding the team and third-party partners to a high standard
Challenge the team and delivery partners on deliverables, pace and quality
Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies rather than waiting for them to surface
Provide regular, clear and consumable upward reporting to senior and director-level stakeholders
Keep engineering teams continuously fed with well-defined, prioritised work and drive the removal of delivery blockers

About You

Extensive, hands-on Jira experience is essential — this team operates in Jira, not spreadsheets, and Jira fluency is the top priority for this role
Proven Scrum Master experience combined with a genuine delivery manager mindset — able to run ceremonies and own delivery
Strong communicator, able to translate complex delivery status into clear, exec-ready insight and escalate with confidence
Decisive and proactive, with the ability to challenge upward as well as down, including at director level
Experience managing third-party delivery partners and holding them accountable
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a delivery management or Scrum Master role, ideally within a large-scale, agile, partner-heavy environment
