About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Data Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role that will be based out of London.

Our client is seeking an experienced analytical professional to support the continued evolution of their Financial Crime Operations function. This role will focus on capacity planning, forecasting, operational MI, performance optimisation and data-driven decision making. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Financial Crime, Operations and Data functions to develop forecasting models, improve reporting capabilities, manage operational data pipelines and deliver actionable insights that support business growth and operational effectiveness. The role requires strong SQL and Python expertise, coupled with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Develop and maintain strategic capacity planning and forecasting models to support operational demand and business growth.
  • Take ownership of operational data pipelines, ensuring data quality, accuracy and reliability across reporting environments.
  • Build predictive models and perform cause-and-effect analysis to identify trends, risks and optimisation opportunities.
  • Deliver strategic analysis and insights to assess the operational health and effectiveness of the Financial Crime function.
  • Conduct cost analysis and evaluate operational performance metrics, including productivity and quality measures.
  • Lead the development and implementation of KPI frameworks, target-setting methodologies and performance reporting.
  • Monitor key initiatives, measuring outcomes and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, MI, Data and Financial Crime teams to standardise forecasting and planning processes.
  • Support the development and ownership of data warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Present complex analytical findings to senior stakeholders and provide recommendations that drive strategic decision making.

About You

  • Minimum 4 years of experience working as a Data Analyst, with experience delivering insights and recommendations that support operational decision-making and business performance.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience querying, analysing and manipulating large datasets to support reporting, forecasting and business analysis.
  • Experience in predictive modelling and statistical analysis, using data to identify trends, forecast demand and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Capacity planning or workforce management experience, with the ability to analyse demand, forecast resource requirements and support operational planning activities.
  • Experience owning or supporting data warehouses and data pipelines, ensuring data quality, accuracy and reliability for reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Financial Crime operations and an understanding of the key processes, performance drivers and operational challenges within the function.
  • Experience supporting operational transformation or change initiatives, using data and performance insights to measure outcomes and identify improvement opportunities.
