About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6- 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London or Bristol

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, your role is pivotal in leading the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives and transformation programmes. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end planning, governance, execution, and delivery of complex projects that span multiple technology teams, business functions, and external partners. This role is focused on achieving business outcomes through effective programme leadership, stakeholder engagement, delivery governance, and operational readiness. Based on the Technical Delivery Lead role profile.
 
You will have experience delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives within Financial Services or similarly regulated industries, ideally covering areas such as:
 
  • Digitisation of Operations (e.g., onboarding, servicing, transactions)
  • B2B Client Portals and Digital Channels
  • Digital Identity and Authentication Platforms
  • Customer and Operational Transformation Programmes
  • Enterprise Platform Modernisation Initiatives
  • You will leverage your deep project delivery expertise and strong technical understanding to coordinate complex
  • programmes that deliver measurable business outcomes, including operational efficiency, customer experience
  • improvements, revenue growth, risk reduction, and technology modernization.
Key Responsibilites:
 
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology programmes and projects, from initiation through to successful implementation.
  • Develop and manage integrated delivery plans, aligning business, technology, operations, and third-party activities.
  • Drive programme execution to ensure key milestones, deliverables, and business outcomes are achieved on time and within scope.
  • Establish governance frameworks and provide executive reporting on programme health, risks, dependencies, finances, and key decisions.
  • Facilitate SteerCo, governance forums, and executive reviews, escalating risks and recommending mitigation strategies where required.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, acting as the primary coordination point across multiple workstreams and delivery teams.
  • Own RAID management processes, proactively identifying, managing, and resolving programme risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Support business case development, budget management, financial forecasting, resource planning, and vendor oversight.
  • Drive delivery excellence through effective roadmap planning, forecasting, capacity management, governance compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate business readiness and change activities, including communications, training, operational transition, adoption, and benefits realisation.

About You

  • 5+ years experience in a technologist role working within a delivery team environment.
  • Significant experience in web and mobile applications, ideally with React Native experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills including technical mentoring of software development staff.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to collect and analyse complex material and data and present it in accessible formats.
  • Proven ability to successfully gather requirements and get results with minimal supervision.
  • High levels of initiative with ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting priorities.
