About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Product Owner located in Jersey City, Boston, Tampa to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 1 year but may be extended.

This role will be Hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, operations teams, technology teams, and product leaders to gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for Equity Clearing & Settlement initiatives. 
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions to identify business needs, challenges, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Translate business objectives into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and user stories for technology delivery teams. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the impact of proposed changes, identify risks, and ensure alignment across business and technology stakeholders. 
  • Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Support project planning activities by defining business requirements, identifying resource needs, estimating effort, and tracking project deliverables. 
  • Create and maintain business documentation including requirement specifications, workflow diagrams, gap analyses, test scenarios, and business process maps.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to clarify requirements, resolve questions, and validate delivered solutions against business expectations.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives, providing business context and requirement clarification. 
  • Conduct impact assessments and feasibility analyses for new initiatives, enhancements, and regulatory changes.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining test scenarios, coordinating testing activities, documenting defects, and validating business outcomes.
  • Develop reporting, analysis, and data-driven insights to support business decision-making and strategic planning. 
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, status updates, and recommendations to business partners and leadership teams.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle and Equity Clearing & Settlement processes is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
  • Ability to create process flows, workflow diagrams, and business documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to analyze data and present insights using Excel, PowerPoint, charts, and reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new business processes and technologies.
