About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Dynamics 365 CE Data Migration Consultant to work for our client within the Legal Technology sector. This is initially a 6 to 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Remote role that will be based in the UK.

Our client is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 CE Data Migration Consultant to support a portfolio of CRM replatforming projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, building, testing and delivering complex data migrations from legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments into Dynamics 365 CE platforms. Working across multiple client engagements, you will play a key role in data migration, data quality improvement and data cleansing activities, ensuring accurate and reliable transitions into the target environment.

Responsibilities
 
  • Act as the SME for Dynamics 365 CE data migration activities across multiple client projects.
  • Review, analyse and map legacy Dynamics CRM data structures, entities, fields and relationships to target Dynamics 365 CE environments.
  • Design, build, test and execute data migration processes using tools such as KingswaySoft, SSIS, Azure Data Factory and Power Platform technologies.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, loading, reconciliation and validation activities to ensure data integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve migration issues including data quality defects, mapping errors and migration exceptions.
  • Lead migration testing, reconciliation, rehearsal cycles, cutover planning and post migration support activities.
  • Perform data cleansing, deduplication, transformation and remediation activities to improve data quality prior to migration.
  • Collaborate with product teams, technical teams, project managers, testers and client stakeholders to deliver successful migration outcomes.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including mapping specifications, migration runbooks, reconciliation reports and handover materials.
  • Support client workshops and provide technical input into project estimates, risks, assumptions and delivery planning.

About You

  • 2+ years' experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) data migration projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Dynamics 365 CE data model, including entities, relationships, business units, teams, activities and security concepts.
  • Experience mapping, transforming and migrating large volumes of CRM data between legacy and target environments.
  • Hands on experience with data migration and integration tools such as KingswaySoft, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Power Platform Dataflows or similar technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience analysing data, validating migration outputs and reconciling large datasets.
  • Experience performing data cleansing, deduplication, transformation and bulk data remediation activities.
  • Understanding of Dynamics 365 CE customisations, workflows, plugins, integrations and how they impact migration activity.
  • Experience supporting migration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover planning, deployment activities and post go live support.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation including mapping specifications, migration runbooks, reconciliation reports and handover documentation.
  • Experience working within Agile or project based delivery environments whilst managing multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience collaborating with business, technical and client facing teams.
  • Experience with Dataverse, Power Automate, APIs and Azure based integration services would be advantageous.
