About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Java/React Developer to work for our client within the Fintech sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London. 

Our client is seeking a talented Full Stack Java & React Developer to join our Asset Servicing Technology team in London. This team is responsible for delivering scalable, high-performance technology solutions that support critical post-trade and asset servicing operations across global financial markets.

You will play a key role in the design, development and enhancement of enterprise-grade applications used to manage complex asset servicing processes, corporate actions, income processing, custody operations and client reporting. Working within an Agile delivery environment, you will collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts and fellow engineers to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, client experience and platform scalability.

Responsibilities
 
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable full stack applications using Java and React.
  • Build and enhance microservices and RESTful APIs supporting Asset Servicing platforms.
  • Develop responsive user interfaces using React, TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks.
  • Contribute to the modernization of legacy applications and support cloud-native transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations and Business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support platform stability, resilience and performance improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, automation and deployment practices.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to security, regulatory and operational standards required within financial services.

About You

  • 5+ years' commercial software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Proven experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end development practices.
  • Experience working with SQL and large-scale relational databases.
  • Knowledge of messaging technologies and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery environments.
