About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Microsoft Purview Consultant, specialising in unstructured data governance, to work for our client within the Lloyd’s Market and marine insurance sector. This is initially a 12-week contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London, with attendance at the client site as required.

Our client is seeking an experienced consultant to deliver the discovery, classification and governance of unstructured information across its Microsoft 365 and on-premises data estate. You will configure Microsoft Purview Information Protection capabilities, develop a sector-appropriate sensitivity-label taxonomy and introduce automated classification and data loss prevention controls. Working with IT, compliance and legal stakeholders, you will translate technical findings into practical governance recommendations and contribute to the documentation required for testing, deployment and ongoing operation.

Responsibilities:

Conduct discovery and content scanning across SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online and on-premises Windows file shares.
Configure and operate the Microsoft Purview on-premises scanner, including its Azure SQL results store and Windows Server scanner nodes.
Design a sensitivity-label taxonomy and develop custom Sensitive Information Types using keyword dictionaries, regular expressions and confidence-weighted rules.
Implement and tune auto-labelling and staged data loss prevention policies across Microsoft 365 workloads and Microsoft Office applications.
Review access permissions and produce governance findings, recommendations and delivery artefacts aligned with least-privilege principles

About You

Demonstrable hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection for unstructured data, rather than Azure Purview Data Governance.
Proven experience configuring sensitivity labels, label policies, auto-labelling and custom Sensitive Information Types across Microsoft 365 workloads.
Practical experience deploying the Microsoft Purview on-premises scanner, including Azure SQL results-store and Windows Server scanner-node configuration.
Hands-on experience designing DLP policies across at least three Microsoft 365 workloads and conducting RBAC or access-governance reviews.
Experience working with Microsoft 365 E5 in a regulated financial-services, insurance or Lloyd’s Market environment, with the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
