About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Risk Associate to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a Senior Risk Associate to join their dynamic team who provide first like risk support to the Embedded Risk Managers and the Solutions businesses. As a Risk Senior Associate, you will support the client’s risk assessment processes, controls testing, regulatory compliance initiatives, and risk reporting activities. You'll collaborate across departments to build a strong risk-aware culture and ensure their risk framework is embedded in day-to-day decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line risk support to the Embedded Risk Managers and the Solutions businesses
  • Partner with Second Line control groups for Solutions-level or Corporate-level topics
  • Oversight and monitoring of issues and action plans, including reduced likelihood of repeat issues, effective challenge on management’s remediation of issues, drives sustainability reviews
  • Work with ERM teams, Business Management, and others within Solutions to define risk program reporting needs and cadence, as well as consolidate where necessary
  • Identify metrics and dashboards needed for monitoring, and develop processes for metric collection, monitoring and trend analysis
  • Gather and analyse risk related data to gain insights into exposures and to enable tactical and strategic management decisions
  • Oversee the maintenance of the process, risk, and control libraries in line with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) expectations
  • Development and management of business risk profiles
  • Support the build out and execution of the Management Control Testing program and guidelines
  • Support incident/problem management activities
  • Promote transparency and accountability by maintaining consistency across risk framework & operating model
  • Assist with driving improvements to the overall control environment
  • Coordinate in the development and delivery of risk training programs, as necessary, to address key needs
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk

About You

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in risk management, internal controls, compliance, or audit (preferably in financial services)
  • Strong understanding of first line vs. second-line risk functions
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Familiarity with KRIs, RCSA, risk dashboards, and GRC frameworks
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team
  • Experience working within a regulated financial institution
  • Exposure to incident management processes or audit reviews
