About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 9-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Macclesfield.

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst who can support their project to meet new HMRC data reporting for ad hoc Pension Scheme Returns (PSR). The immediate priority will involve sourcing, validating, and consolidating detailed data, potentially from fragmented systems. This will involve designing a sustainable, repeatable process for future PSR reporting. There has also been a revised UK Corporate Governance Code. This will involve establishing and embedding a robust framework for material controls linked to principal risks, including defining key terms, methodologies, TOM, assurance approaches, and board reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analysing and confirming detailed data requirements based on HMRC specifications
  • Working with SMEs to conduct data discovery and mapping exercises to identify sources for required data points across various systems (Policy Admin Systems, Finance Systems etc.)
  • Supporting the consolidation and validation of data required for submission
  • Mapping 'as-is' processes and designing/documenting the 'to-be' repeatable process for future PSR requests (manual or automated options)
  • Facilitating workshops and discussions with SMEs from Policy Admin, Finance, Tax, and potentially Actuarial teams
  • Supporting workshops and analysis to define key risk/control categories like 'principal risks' and 'material controls'
  • Assisting in the definition of the control framework, including methodologies and relationships with other frameworks
  • Supporting the design of the Target Operating Model (processes, roles, technology considerations)
  • Mapping 'as-is' and 'to-be' processes related to risk identification, control operation, testing/assurance, and reporting
  • Documenting framework components, definitions, processes, and requirements
  • Facilitating engagement with workstream leads and stakeholders across Risk

About You

Requirements

  • Experience with identifying data needs, working closely with Data Analyst/Developers to map data sources and lineages from diverse/fragmented sources
  • Understanding and practical experience working with risk/control frameworks
  • Ability to understand, define, and document risks and controls
  • Adept at effectively collaborating with and influencing technical, Finance, Tax, Risk SMEs, and management
