About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a ServiceNow Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 24-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle or Blackpool.

Our client is seeking a ServiceNow Developer with at least 2 years of hands-on experience to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented professional to take the next step in their development journey within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

As a ServiceNow Developer at FDM, you will play a key role in supporting the development, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of ServiceNow solutions across the business. You’ll work closely with senior developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver functionality that supports key operational goals, improves user experience, and ensures platform stability.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and deployment of ServiceNow applications and modules across various business units
  • Customise and configure core modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and Service Catalog
  • Contribute to the implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing functionalities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Build and support integrations with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates, troubleshooting, and issue resolution to ensure platform performance
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for configurations, scripts, workflows, and customisations
  • Participate in testing cycles, including unit testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Keep up with the latest ServiceNow product releases, features, and best practices to recommend continuous improvements

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in developing on the ServiceNow platform
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and the Glide API, with hands-on experience using ServiceNow Studio and development tools
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, CMDB, Service Catalog, and Workflow
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party systems using REST and/or SOAP APIs
  • Working knowledge of IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and MID Server configuration
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and IT service management best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
