About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Automation Data QA Specialist to work for our client- a leading compliance software company. This is initially a 5 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in York. 
 
This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our data pipelines and analytics platforms. You will work closely with data engineers, developers, and product teams to validate data flows, automate testing processes, and support the delivery of high-quality data products.
 
 Responsibilities:
 
  • Design and implement automated data validation and QA processes across data pipelines.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL and Snowflake queries to validate data integrity and transformations.
  • Test and validate APIs used for data ingestion and integration.
  • Collaborate with BI teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in data visualizations using tools like ThoughtSpot, Power BI, or similar.
  • Integrate QA processes into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and deployment.
  • Identify, document, and track data quality issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
  • Develop reusable test scripts and frameworks for scalable data QA automation.

About You

  • Advanced SQL & Snowflake: Strong experience writing complex queries, working with large datasets, and optimizing performance
  •  API Testing: Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs, including authentication, payload validation, and error handling.
  •  Data Visualization Tools: Experience with ThoughtSpot, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • CI/CD Integration: Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps for automated testing and deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the compliance or regulatory software domain.
  • Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for test automation.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
