About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Technical Architect to work for our client within the Energy/Infrastructure sector. This is initially a 3–4 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in Warwick.

Our client is seeking a Technical Architect to design and define foundational technology architecture for a new joint venture (JV). The role focuses on developing pragmatic reference architectures, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements to support scalable and secure JV operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt reference architectures for identity, connectivity, integration, and cloud platforms.
  • Define reusable patterns and onboarding approaches for shared services (APIs, middleware, security, data exchange).
  • Specify non-functional requirements (security, resilience, performance, observability).
  • Lead technical workshops to validate feasibility with IT Ops, Cyber Security, and EA teams.
  • Estimate implementation effort, operational impacts, and transition steps.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Technical or Solution Architect within enterprise-scale environments.
  • Hands-on experience with integration architectures and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Understanding of identity and access management, API gateways, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience specifying and validating non-functional requirements.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in solution or technical architecture roles.
