About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior IT Security Analyst to work for our client within the Legal sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an IT Security Analyst to take a hands-on role in strengthening SecOps and enhancing network and cloud security across Azure and AWS environments. The successful candidate will drive vulnerability remediation, deliver security automation, and act as a key escalation point for operational security incidents. This role will also support US integration efforts, contribute to long-term security strategy, and become the subject matter expert for operational security, threats, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintaining and improving SecOps (Qualys, Orca CNAPP and foundational controls)
  • Driving improvements in the network and cloud (Azure and AWS) security, with the ability to get hands on remediating network vulnerabilities.
  • Supporting the integration of colleagues in the US.
  • Delivering security automation (scripting, API integration and via the Power Platform)
  • Hands on security activities across networking and infrastructure environments.
  • Represents IT Security in operational and project activities.
  • Escalation point for all operational security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities, managing tasks and driving through resolutions
  • Monitoring & reporting, ensuring environment is regularly and comprehensively monitored, concerns and security risks mitigated, regular and ad hoc reports produced as required.
  • Ensuring environment is patched and protected from security threats, undertake regular reviews, identify and eliminate security risks.
  • Participate in operational technology checks and controls, identify anomalies working with various teams to mitigate and reduce risks
  • Work closely with the IT Security Management team to contribute to the development of the longer-term IT security strategy
  • Regularly attend the Change Advisory Board (CAB) ensuring all changes and admin tasks met the specified processes
  • Become recognised as the SME for all operational security, initiatives, threats and vulnerability management within 6-12 months

About You

  • General security background with experience in a complex, multisite, global organisation, delivering and supporting security services.
  • Dedicated hands-on security role in large corporate enterprise with responsibilities for a broad range of security devices, applications, tools and services.
  • Good understanding of public cloud infrastructure services e.g. Azure and AWS, their architecture and security functionality.
  • Demonstrable use of AI to enhance personal and team's functions
  • Knowledge of AI services architecture, including enterprise products and products built upon Azure or other hyperscalers.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms.
  • Understanding of source code repositories such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience of using and configuring API integrations
  • Previous experience of various security services and products including but not limited to, DMZ devices and tools, firewalls, proxy servers, IDS, rule-base management etc.
  • Understanding of certificate and encryption technologies, endpoint protection software and web & email content filtering.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and protocols in security and networking areas including tools and cyber threat management
  • SOC/SIEM knowledge, with good experience in threat and vulnerability remediation & incident management response.
  • Working knowledge of traditional data centre and cloud networking principles.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods.
  • An understanding of endpoint security solutions, to include file integrity monitoring and data loss prevention.
  • Able to deliver outstanding service in a high-pressure environment working in a large organisation.
  • Able to analyse business and system security threats and issues and communicate them effectively at all levels of the firm.
  • Willingness to pursue relevant security qualifications.
