About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Atlassian/Jira Product Owner to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in London.

As a Atlassian product expert you will be working closely with the team and working on the development and migration processes. The core responsibility is Jira config, development, adhering to milestones with knowledge of Atlassian products i.e. Jira and Confluence to migrate from Wealth version of Jira to the Group version of Jira. Along with this the product expert will also be responsible for Scopetool – ServiceNow – Jira integration

Responsibilities:
 
  • Planning and scoping data, users and configuration migration
  • Evaluate Jira development and migration requirement – data, configurations, users and workflows
  • Prepare pre-migration and execution plan
  • Support testing to prove migration outcomes
  • Execute migration and validate configuration
  • Support post migration activities, troubleshooting and documentation
  • Provide training support

Jira Platform Administration

  • Administer and maintain Jira Software and/or Jira Service Management
  • Configure and manage projects, workflows, issue types, screens, fields, schemes, and permissions
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and scalability
  • Manage user access, roles, and license usage

Process & Governance

  • Translate business requirements into standardised Jira configurations
  • Enforce best practices, governance, and naming conventions
  • Support Agile (Scrum/Kanban), ITSM, and DevOps workflows
  • Reduce customisation complexity while enabling flexibility

Automation & Optimisation

  • Design and maintain Jira automations to reduce manual effort
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
  • Support backlog hygiene, workflow optimisation, and SLA configuration (where applicable)

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Build and maintain dashboards, filters, and reports for operational and leadership insights
  • Support metrics such as velocity, throughput, SLAs, incident trends, and cycle time
  • Enable data-driven decision-making across teams

Integrations & Tooling

  • Manage integrations with tools such as Bespoke System (Scopetool), ServiceNow, Confluence, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools, monitoring/observability platforms, and Service Management systems
  • Support data flows for incident, change, and problem management
  • Understanding of API’s
  • Work closely with platform and tool owners to ensure seamless integration

Testing and Plugins

  • Support functional, integration and user acceptance (UAT) for Jira configurations, migrations, automations and integrations
  • Evaluate, configure, test and maintain Jira Marketplace plugins/add-ons
  • Ensure plugins align with governance standards, licensing, security and performance requirements

About You

  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Jira, including configuration, administration, workflow design, and supporting large‑scale Jira environments.
  • Proven experience working within the Financial Services sector, with an understanding of regulatory environments, security controls, and complex enterprise operating models.
  • Demonstrated background as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, manage backlogs, and drive product roadmaps.
  • Practical experience with ServiceNow, including supporting integrations, data flows, or aligning Jira workflows with ITSM processes.
  • Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical teams, business users, and platform owners in a fast‑paced environment.
