About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a HR workforce planning specialist to work for our client within the Public Sector. This is initially a 30‑day contract, 3 days per week running from April to July 2026 and will be a hybrid role.

Our client is seeking a Consultant Business Analyst to support strategic workforce planning activity. The consultant will work closely with the Team Lead to deliver workforce modelling, financial analysis, scenario planning and senior‑level facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic HR workforce planning, including modelling workforce supply and demand, identifying critical roles and developing scenario options
  • Build robust financial models including multi‑year cost projections, headcount scenarios and ROI analysis
  • Create practical workforce planning templates, dashboards and decision‑making tools
  • Design and facilitate executive‑level workshops and strategy sessions
  • Translate complex data and modelling insights into clear, compelling narratives for senior leaders

About You

  • Strong background in strategic workforce planning and organisational modelling
  • Skilled financial modeller with experience across multi‑year forecasting, scenario modelling and ROI evaluation
  • Confident in designing templates, dashboards and planning tools
  • Experienced facilitator with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to simplify complex information for leadership audiences
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in strategic workforce planning, financial modelling or similar roles
