About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an IT Infrastructure Administrator to work within the technology function of one of our Financial Services clients. This is initially a 6‑month contract with strong prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their End User Computing (EUC) team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining EUC infrastructure, ensuring systems remain fully operational and supporting employees across the business. The role also involves contributing to the design and implementation of new EUC technologies and improving the overall colleague technology experience.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide prompt and effective 3rd‑line support for all End User Computing technologies.
  • Design and implement new EUC technologies as part of planned change activity, working closely with Architecture and Project Managers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the EUC estate, identifying improvement opportunities across technologies and processes.
  • Support and guide 2nd Line Support and Service Desk teams, helping improve technical capability.
  • Ensure systems remain compliant, patched, maintained, and fully documented, including build procedures and disaster recovery processes.

About You

  • Experience administering Windows end‑user systems at enterprise scale.
  • Strong background in SCCM for application deployment and patch management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Group Policy for device policies and compliance.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Understanding of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), ideally Horizon.
  • Experience using PowerShell or similar scripting languages (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
  • Willingness to support occasional out‑of‑hours work and participate in an on‑call rota.
