About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a Change function within the financial services sector. This is an initial 6‑month contract with potential for extension and will be an onshore, site‑based role in Cheshire. Offshore delivery is not applicable for this role.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance (Finance / Actuarial) workstream within a wider transformation programme focused on delivering Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) buy‑in / buy‑out capability. The role will operate closely alongside a core programme delivering a new Policy Administration System and associated finance interface feeds.

The successful candidate will bring strong project management fundamentals, with particular strengths in dependency management, stakeholder engagement, and finance delivery.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage the Finance (Finance / Actuarial) workstream within a BPA buy‑in / buy‑out transformation programme
  • Own and manage dependencies between the Finance workstream and the core programme delivering a new Policy Administration System
  • Oversee the delivery of Finance system changes to support new interface feeds, including both automated and manual processes
  • Develop and manage Finance delivery plans, ensuring alignment with overall programme milestones and timelines
  • Provide Finance input into core project plans, with a focus on delivery through Product Backlog Items (PBIs) and Sprint Planning
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues related to Finance delivery
  • Align Finance delivery plans with the evolving approach and timelines for BPA buy‑in capability 

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Project Manager within financial services change environments
  • Strong background in Finance delivery, Finance system change, or Actuarial‑adjacent programmes
  • Experience managing complex dependencies across large, multi‑workstream programmes
  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable engaging with senior Finance, Actuarial, and programme leadership teams
  • Solid understanding of project governance, planning, RAID management, and delivery controls

Desirable:

  • Experience working on Bulk Purchase Annuity, pensions, or life insurance programmes
  • Previous involvement in Policy Administration System transformations or major platform change
