About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Programme Manager to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that can be based in either London, Birmingham or Sheffield

The client is delivering the 5 Priorities Programme a two-year, modular programme across five priorities, comprising 25 deliverables with baselined OKR's. The programme is incredibly ambitious, aiming to redesign our processes, tooling, and data to reimagine audit as an end-to-end joined up service.
Two Project Managers will support the Head of Transformation by providing hands-on programme delivery leadership to run the integrated delivery plan and drive execution. The roles strengthen orchestration across dependencies, maintain delivery discipline, and reduce slippage/rework caused by local contention and unmanaged handoffs.

Responsibilities:

  • Run the integrated delivery plan day-to-day: maintain the plan, drive updates, track milestones/critical path, and ensure actions are executed by accountable owners.
  • Operate the fortnightly portfolio sync with Sponsors and supporting cadence (actions, follow-ups, decision capture), ensuring blockers are surfaced early and driven to closure.
  • Maintain and drive the single live dependency log across deliverables, with clear owners, dates, impacts, and escalation routes.
  • Manage portfolio-level RAID and decision tracking; ensure mitigations are in place and decisions are translated into delivery actions.
  • Track and report progress against OKRs/value, producing concise, decision-ready governance packs.
  • Identify and manage task concentration and local contention and propose re-sequencing and trade-offs for governance decisions.
  • Coordinate and lock in critical specialist inputs, including key teams such as Methodology or Digital, to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Support change landing into BAU by coordinating cross-cutting readiness (change calendar, cutover/hypercare touchpoints, adoption risks), working with Sponsors/BAU owners.

About You

  • Strong programme/project management in complex, interdependent change.
  • Ability to drive execution in an SME-led, matrix environment (influence without formal authority).
  • Strong risk/issue/decision management and ability to unblock at pace.
  • Clear, concise senior stakeholder communication and reporting.
  • Practical understanding of change absorption into BAU and how to manage concurrency.
  • Proven dependency management and governance cadence discipline.

Success Measures

  • Integrated plan, RAID, and dependency log operating as a single source of truth with no late surprises.
  • Fortnightly cadence running cleanly with faster decision closure and clearer ownership.
  • Contention hotspots and H2 change-load risks visible early with agreed mitigations/trade-offs.
  • OKR reporting consistent and governance packs are decision-ready.
