About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Test Lead to work for our client within the UK public sector. This is a fixed term contract until 30 September, with scope to extend further. The role is fully remote BAU, based in the UK.

Our client is seeking an experienced Test Lead with a strong hands‑on QA background to own quality end to end across web‑based systems. The role involves setting QA processes, leading a small testing team, and getting involved in delivery detail where required. This opportunity suits a pragmatic Test Lead who values strong QA fundamentals, collaborative working, and delivery stability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all testing activity within major change programmes, projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prioritise, plan and allocate testing resources across programmes and projects
  • Define, manage and execute test strategies, approaches and methodologies, including unit, integration, system, user acceptance, performance and security testing
  • Plan, manage and deliver testing across the full change lifecycle
  • Write and review test plans, test cases and test scripts to ensure quality delivery
  • Manage defect identification, prioritisation, resolution and re‑testing
  • Provide management information and reporting on quality and testing progress
  • Operate and support testing tools and environments
  • Work with and assure the quality of third‑party suppliers delivering systems

About You

  • Proven experience leading a test team on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and web applications
  • Strong hands‑on functional testing experience
  • Experience writing, maintaining and executing test suites
  • Proven experience line managing system testers
  • Ability to communicate test progress, risks and issues to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Good understanding of test methodologies
  • Experience producing and maintaining test documentation
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Power Platform desirable
  • Experience using modern test and test management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • BPSS Clearance required
