About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead Business Analyst to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with good prospects to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel to Brighton.

We require a senior Lead Business Analyst for a large‑scale transformation programme, with a strong focus on live transaction processing.

Role Purpose:
  • Lead the definition, delivery, and evolution of business requirements across a complex transformation programme.
  • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Drive improvements in ways of working, ensuring the BA team operates efficiently, consistently, and at pace.
  • Provide visible, hands‑on leadership throughout delivery and transition to production.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, setting clear standards and expectations.
  • Own and drive requirements definition for Group Protection products, with a strong focus on live transaction processing.
  • Actively contribute to delivery, demonstrating the behaviours and standards expected from others.
  • Work closely with Product, Technology, and Delivery teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Continuously identify and implement improvements to BA practices and delivery approaches.
  • Support knowledge transfer into the Enduring team as the programme moves into Production.

About You

Essential Experience & Skills:
  • 3+ years' proven leadership experience of a Business Analysis team, ideally within a legacy or complex transformation programme.
  • Demonstrable experience within the Group Protection domain (strongly preferred).
  • Strong background working on live transaction processing systems.
  • Hands‑on experience using AI, including developing or working with AI agents to support requirements elicitation, improve consistency, and reduce effort.
  • Recent and substantial experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively, building on an existing collaborative culture.
  • Fast learner, able to become productive within the first few sprints.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to respond quickly to evolving product and delivery needs.
Behavioural & Personal Attributes:
  • Highly hands‑on and delivery‑focused; comfortable getting into the detail.
  •  Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence, challenge, and support stakeholders at all levels.
  •  Pragmatic and outcomes‑driven, with a focus on delivery over theory.
  •  Committed to a long‑term role, providing continuity across the full life of the programme.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience supporting the transition from programme delivery into Production and BAU/Enduring teams.
  •  Prior involvement in large‑scale insurance platform or product evolution programmes.
