FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Senior Delivery Leads to support a Systems Integrator / Consultancy client's large portfolio of work with and end Public Sector client. This role operates at a programme and portfolio level, providing strategic leadership across multiple deliveries, services, and products to ensure consistent, predictable, and high-quality outcomes aligned to client objectives. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid (3 days a week) role that will be based in Telford.
The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping delivery approaches, enforcing governance frameworks, and driving continuous improvement across complex engagements. This is a senior leadership role, suited to someone experienced in overseeing large-scale portfolios and leading recovery of complex or at-risk deliveries.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring delivery structures, resource strategies, and governance are aligned to both organisational and client priorities while building high-performing delivery teams and future capability. You will also be working closely with Project Managers, who retain overall P&L accountability.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight across portfolios, ensuring coherent delivery governance, standards, and controls
- Act as senior escalation point for critical risks, issues, change control, and cross‑delivery dependencies
- Lead recovery of complex, at‑risk, or underperforming programmes to restore delivery confidence
- Oversee portfolio financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, and commercial health
- Ensure effective resource allocation, capacity planning, and long‑term strategic resourcing
- Build trusted senior client relationships, aligning delivery strategy to client priorities and growth opportunities
- Communicate delivery performance, progress, and risks clearly to executive and senior stakeholders
- Lead, mentor, and develop delivery leaders, driving capability uplift, succession planning, and continuous improvement
