About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Finance Analyst to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office-based role (4 days per week in office) based in Manchester.

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Analyst to join a fast-growing Finance Service Centre, playing a key role in delivering financial insight and analysis that supports strategic decision making across the business. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team on a journey towards becoming a centre of excellence within a large-scale retail environment.
 
Responsibilities
  • Drilling down on large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and business insights
  • Preparing financial reports and providing accurate financial data for analysis and commentary
  • Working closely with finance colleagues and business divisions to support strategic decision making
  • Driving increased insight through analysis to challenge assumptions and make recommendations that deliver business benefit
  • Ensuring a strong financial control environment is maintained
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex business unit queries in a proactive manner
  • Identifying and implementing operational improvements and efficiencies

About You

  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Proven ability to use data and analysis to solve problems
  • Confident, clear, and effective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple levels
  • Experience working within a finance function, ideally within a large, complex organisation
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance analysis or similar role
