About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Finance Assistant (P2P) to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office-based role based in Manchester.

Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant to support their Procure to Pay function within a fast-paced shared service environment. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong process knowledge, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across business partner groups at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Processing end-to-end P2P transactions accurately and efficiently within a shared service environment
  • Resolving and raising queries with suppliers, regional offices, and merchandisers in a timely manner
  • Continually seeking to improve and optimise purchase to pay processes
  • Analysing and interpreting financial reporting to support business insight and decision making
  • Implementing and embedding role-specific system improvements
  • Operating within relevant financial guidelines and legislation, with a clear understanding of compliance risk
  • Supporting internal and external partner management across multiple business areas

About You

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process
  • Experience with SAP or a comparable accounting system, including the ability to analyse and interpret reporting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to drive and embed innovative reporting solutions that deliver measurable business improvements
  • Strong analytical, audit, and control mindset with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable operating within financial guidelines and managing compliance risk
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in a finance operations or P2P role
