About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused Business Analyst to join a Change and Transformation function. The role will initially focus on improving and stabilising existing systems and processes within a largely manual and fragmented environment. Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess existing systems and processes across the business
  • Document current processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks
  • Conduct gap analysis and recommend practical improvements
  • Re-engineer manual and inefficient processes to improve operational efficiency
  • Engage stakeholders to gather requirements and produce clear, structured documentation
  • Define and support embedding of best practice ways of working
  • Support transition into structured BA delivery within change initiatives
  • Contribute to agile or product-led delivery environments where applicable
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, including automation and use of AI tools

About You

  • 5–8 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst in a delivery-focused role
  • Strong experience working in ambiguous or unstructured environments
  • Proven track record in:
    • Process mapping and documentation
    • Gap analysis
    • Operational/process improvement
  • Experience working in agile or product-led environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable working with manual, legacy, or fragmented systems
  • Demonstrates a strong delivery mindset (“gets things done”) with a focus on outcomes
  • Experience in insurance or financial services (beneficial, not essential)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Visio, Confluence, JIRA, or similar BA toolsets (assumed standard – amend if needed)
