About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Head of BSR Service Management to work for our client within the UK public sector.

This is initially a 6 month contract with good potential to extend and will be a remote role. The role will support a major organisational transition, overseeing corporate service delivery. Our client is seeking a senior leader to provide strategic oversight of a newly established Service Management function. This role is critical to ensuring corporate services are delivered effectively during a high‑profile transition period.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Service Management function, ensuring end‑to‑end delivery assurance of corporate services 
  • Oversee service performance against agreed frameworks, service levels and governance structures 
  • Act as a senior escalation point for critical delivery issues and broker resolutions across organisations 
  • Build and maintain strong senior stakeholder relationships 
  • Represent the function in senior governance forums and provide insight on performance, risk and planning
  • Chair senior performance review meetings and drive resolution of key issues
  • Provide oversight of financial and resource planning to ensure value for money and alignment with priorities

About You

  • Significant experience leading a Service Management function or equivalent in a complex organisation
  • Deep understanding of corporate services including HR, Finance, Estates, Procurement, Customer Services and IT/Digital 
  • Proven experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and influencing decision making 
  • Strong strategic leadership capability with the ability to operate in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
  • Highly developed communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate at pace while balancing strategic priorities and delivery needs 
  • Experience working across organisational boundaries and managing risk in high‑profile environments
