About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Change Manager with Active SC to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel into London or Manchester.

We are seeking a Business Change Manager who will be responsible for driving organisational readiness, engagement, and successful adoption of Microsoft sensitivity labelling across the business. This role ensures that all impacted teams are prepared, equipped, and supported to implement new ways of working, with a particular focus on behavioural change, governance, and compliance.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead and deliver detailed Change Impact Assessments across each phase of the rollout, in collaboration with Adoption Managers and key stakeholders
  • Translate technical changes into clear business impacts, ensuring alignment with operational processes
  • Develop and execute tailored Business Readiness Plans for each department or function
  • Identify and document required changes to business processes, including document handling, classification, and information sharing practices
  • Establish clear readiness criteria and secure formal sign-off from business stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops, feedback sessions, and engagement activities to ensure buy-in and alignment
  • Proactively identify potential risks, barriers, and resistance to change
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and governance of training content, ensuring it remains accurate, up-to-date, and version-controlled 

About You

  • Applicants must hold active SC clearance and have worked within a government department within the past 12 months.
  • Experience in business change, transformation, or adoption roles
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language
  • Experience with organisational change methodologies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, data protection, or information governance
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and measure outcomes
