About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Commercial Analyst to work for our client within the Public Sector. This is initially a 6 month contract position with very good prospects to extend and will be a remote role.

Our client is seeking a Commercial Analyst to support their commercial management information, reporting, Power BI dashboarding, data analysis and business analysis support. The role will help provide clear insight into commercial activity, supplier performance, procurement outcomes, risks and opportunities, supporting evidence-based decision-making and stronger commercial governance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain commercial management information, KPIs, benchmarking methods and performance measures to improve visibility of commercial activity and outcomes.
  • Collect, cleanse, validate and analyse commercial, procurement, contract and supplier performance data from multiple sources.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and visualisations to support senior stakeholder reporting and commercial decision-making.
  • Produce accurate reporting packs, insight papers, briefing materials and analytical outputs for governance and decision-making forums.
  • Support commercial improvement activity through requirements gathering, process mapping, stakeholder workshops and identifying opportunities to improve reporting quality, automation and efficiency. 

About You

  • Strong experience using Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis, management information, dashboard development and data visualisation.
  •  Experience collecting, cleansing, validating and analysing data from multiple and varied sources, with a strong focus on data quality and governance.
  •  Experience developing KPIs, performance measures, reporting standards and management information products for senior stakeholders.
  •  Strong ability to analyse commercial, financial, operational and performance data to identify trends, risks, gaps and opportunities.
  •  Understanding of commercial management principles including procurement, contract management, supplier management and value for money.
  •  Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations and present insight confidently to different stakeholder groups.
  •  Experience producing high-quality reports, presentations, insight packs and analytical outputs for governance or senior decision-making forums.
  •  Business analysis capability, including requirements gathering, process mapping, stakeholder analysis and production of clear analysis artefacts.
