About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a SAP Program Manager (Finance) to work for our client within the Healthcare sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

The overall purpose of the Technical Program Delivery Manager is to lead the end-to-end technical execution and system delivery within a large-scale Enterprise Finance Transformation Programme. Operating at the intersection of solution architecture, core financial engineering, and strategic programme management, this role ensures robust, scalable, and compliant technical solutions are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in strict alignment with financial regulatory and governance baselines.

Working closely with business stakeholders, product and data owners, business analysts, delivery teams, compliance and system vendors, the Technical Delivery Program Manager will ensure business requirements are delivered in a timely manner with risks, issues and dependencies managed through to closure.

Responsibilities:

Delivery and Execution

  • End-to-End System Delivery: Direct technical workstreams across all functional areas within scope
  • Architecture & Engineering Governance: Partner with Enterprise/Solution Architects to enforce architectural integrity, technical design standards, and robust cutover strategies across all target platforms.
  • Environment & Release Management: Manage complex technical dependencies, environment provisioning, release cadences, and go-live deployment sequencing across hybrid legacy and cloud infrastructure.
  • Technical Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate technical risks, system bottlenecks, data migration discrepancies, and architectural debt across multi-tiered environments.

Programme Governance & Vendor Management

  • Delivery Roadmaps: Maintain detailed technical project plans, critical path milestones, and sprint/release schedules across hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Third-Party Management: Direct external systems integrators (SIs), software vendors, and contract development teams, holding vendors accountable to contractual technical deliverables and SLAs.
  • Steering Reporting: Provide clear technical progress, cutover Readiness Criteria, and risk impact assessments to the Programme Director and Steering Committee.

Financial Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all technical designs, data pipelines, and audit trails comply with relevant financial regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, GRC frameworks).
  • Data Lineage & Reconciliation: Oversee data governance frameworks, automated reconciliation testing, and financial controls across source, staging, and target systems.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with: Program Sponsors, Business and IT representatives, Business Process Owners, Data Owners, Product Owners, Architects, Technical Teams and Third-party suppliers

About You

  • Experience delivering large-scale technology, data or finance transformation programmes, with accountability for end-to-end delivery including planning, governance, budgets, RAID management, dependencies and milestone tracking.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with enterprise technology architecture, including cloud platforms, APIs, system integrations, data flows, environments, release management and management of complex technical dependencies.
  • Demonstrable experience partnering with Solution and Enterprise Architects to govern technical designs, maintain architectural integrity and support complex deployment, transition and cutover activities.
  • Proven track record of managing third-party suppliers, systems integrators and technology vendors, ensuring delivery against contractual commitments, service levels, quality standards and agreed project timelines.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, developed through at least 5 years of programme delivery experience, with the ability to engage senior executives, steering committees, business stakeholders and technical teams, providing clear reporting and risk-based recommendations.
  • Extensive experience identifying, managing and mitigating technical risks, data migration challenges, quality concerns and regulatory compliance requirements within complex, fast-paced and highly governed delivery environments.
