About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-12- month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a strategic data synchronisation programme focused on consolidating and aligning data across multiple platforms, systems, and business entities.

While this role does not require deep technical data analytics expertise, it does require an individual who is comfortable operating in highly data-centric environments, working through complex information landscapes, and driving clarity where ambiguity exists. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying gaps in information, eliciting and documenting requirements, and ensuring requirements are driven through to successful delivery.

Reporting to the Technical Delivery Lead, you will work independently across a broad stakeholder network, engaging with business leaders, SMEs, product teams, and technical teams to facilitate effective decision-making and ensure successful outcomes. This role requires an individual who can confidently navigate complex stakeholder environments, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and build consensus across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation activities.
  • Identify information gaps, risks, and dependencies, proactively driving resolutions and decisions.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder sessions to gather business and system requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and functional specifications.
  • Support data synchronisation and platform integration initiatives across multiple business areas and systems.
  • Work independently to manage analysis activities with minimal supervision.
  • Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.
  • Analyse and document current-state and future-state processes (As-Is / To-Be).
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments, balancing competing priorities and viewpoints.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and project teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Support Agile delivery processes including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and acceptance testing activities.
  • Ensure requirements remain aligned to programme objectives and are delivered through to conclusion.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across analysis and delivery activities.

About You

  • Strong core Business Analysis skills (requirements gathering, user stories, workshop facilitation)
  • Demonstrable experience in process analysis, process design, and continuous improvement
  • Experience working in data-driven environments (data analysis, interpretation, and validation)
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and working within cross-functional teams
  • Financial Services experience preferred, but not essential
  • Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Loop, Miro, Figma, Excel and SQL (or similar)
  • 5–10 years of relevant Business Analyst experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt style across technical and non-technical audiences (Developers through to C-Suite)
  • Confidence to challenge, influence, and push back constructively where appropriate
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Nice to Have

  • Personable, collaborative, and proactive mindset
  • Experience working across multi entity or post-acquisition environments
  • Familiarity with investor engagement or digital platform environments
  • Understanding of API integrations and data exchange processes
