About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Data Analyst located in Canton, MA to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Overview

This role supports the migration of shareholder and employee equity plan data from third-party transfer agent platforms into internal recordkeeping systems. Responsibilities include supporting North American operational teams, documenting procedures, training staff, and ensuring the successful execution of complex corporate actions and client onboarding activities.

The successful candidate will help define business requirements, establish operational processes, support system enhancements, and ensure the accurate implementation of events such as stock splits, reverse stock splits, capital reorganizations, and other non-mandatory corporate actions.

 

About You

Key Responsibilities

Data Migration & Client Conversions

  • Coordinate business requirements for onboarding new clients onto proprietary recordkeeping platforms.
  • Review and validate data received from external providers to ensure completeness, accuracy, and format consistency.
  • Map source data to target system structures and business processes.
  • Work with external stakeholders to understand file layouts, business rules, and conversion requirements.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure accurate data mapping and system functionality.
  • Validate migrated data, including:
    • Share position balances
    • Account information
    • Transaction histories
    • Dividend reinvestment records
    • Historical payment and reconciliation data
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies with technical teams.
  • Support user validation, testing, and business sign-off activities.
  • Execute production migrations and conduct post-migration quality assurance reviews.

Corporate Actions

  • Plan and coordinate large-scale or complex corporate action events.
  • Configure system parameters required to process corporate actions.
  • Execute required pre-processing and operational procedures.
  • Perform testing and validation prior to live event execution.
  • Obtain business approval and sign-off before production implementation.
  • Support live event execution and post-event verification.

Projects & System Enhancements

  • Act as a subject matter expert for migrations, corporate actions, and other exceptional operational events.
  • Assess whether requirements can be supported using existing platform capabilities or require system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement new solutions.
  • Conduct system testing and quality assurance for new functionality.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to business users and support teams.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Several years of experience within one or more of the following industries:
    • Transfer Agency
    • Employee Share Plans / Equity Compensation
    • Securities Services
    • Brokerage Operations
    • Banking and Financial Services
  • Experience working in business support, application support, operations, or technology-related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to define issues, gather requirements, analyze data, and recommend solutions.
  • Experience interpreting technical, operational, and procedural documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and standard business applications.
  • Working knowledge of Linux or Unix-based environments.
  • Experience with data migration projects and system testing activities.
  • Exposure to scripting, macros, or automation tools is desirable.
