About The Role

FDM is seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst to join a Transformation team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, based in or around Edinburgh on a hybrid basis. You will trace data from source systems through to reporting outputs, investigate reporting issues and calculation logic, and work closely with business stakeholders and developers to understand and resolve data-related challenges.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Trace data from source systems through to reporting outputs, identifying dependencies and data flows.
  • Investigate reporting issues to understand underlying data, logic and potential causes.
  • Analyse calculation logic and data to support accurate interpretation of reporting outputs.
  • Use SQL and data analysis techniques to interrogate datasets and support investigations.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and developers on data and reporting requirements

About You

  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with the ability to investigate and interpret complex data.
  • Experience tracing data from source through to reporting outputs and investigating reporting issues.
  • Ability to understand and analyse calculation logic within a data and reporting environment.
  • Confident working collaboratively with both business stakeholders and developers.
  • Desirable: Experience within Asset Management, investment data, ESG/sustainability reporting and/or regulatory reporting.
