About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Power Platform Developers to work with our global systems integrator client on a major Central Government Service Transformation Programme. This initiative forms part of a core-funded Service Transformation Portfolio, focused on improving operational efficiency, increasing productivity, reducing costs, and accelerating the digitisation of critical business processes.

As part of a significant programme expansion, we are seeking experienced Power Platform Developers to join multidisciplinary delivery pods responsible for designing, building, and deploying innovative low-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, GOV.UK services, and no-code/low-code forms technologies. This is an initial assignment running through to March 2027, with strong potential for extension as additional discovery activity and delivery workstreams are onboarded.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing, developing, and supporting solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies
  • Building Canvas Apps and Model-Driven Apps to support operational transformation initiatives
  • Developing automated workflows and business processes using Power Automate
  • Creating integrations between Power Platform solutions, Dataverse, and wider enterprise data sources
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Supporting solution design activities including workflows, process mapping, and user journeys
  • Working within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams to deliver iterative enhancements and new capabilities
  • Ensuring solutions comply with governance, security, accessibility, and quality standards
  • Supporting testing, deployment, defect resolution, and post-release activities
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation and development artefacts
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities for further automation
  • Providing technical input into solution design discussions alongside Architects and Technical Assurance teams

About You

Must Have:

  • 5+ years' experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Strong hands-on experience building Canvas Apps and/or Model-Driven Apps
  • Proven expertise with Power Automate and workflow automation
  • Experience working with Dataverse and enterprise data integrations
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable low-code solutions
  • Experience delivering solutions within Agile or product-based delivery environments
  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, governance, and security best practices
  • Experience working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, and stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary delivery teams
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to wider programme objectives
Nice to Have:
  • Experience delivering solutions within government or public sector environments
  • Knowledge of GOV.UK service standards and digital service delivery principles
  • Experience working with government digital forms platforms or similar low-code/no-code form technologies
  • Understanding of business process improvement, operational transformation, or service optimisation initiatives
  • Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes
  • Familiarity with Power Platform Centre of Excellence governance practices
  • Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and deployment automation
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications
  • Experience supporting case management, workflow, or operational process automation solutions
  • Awareness of accessibility and user-centred design principles within digital service delivery
